Best Fit Cities

Three hundred Florida cities were evaluated on a number of criteria to determine how much they offered for a fit lifestyle. Of those fifty were selected as the BEST CITIES. The scores on the criteria ranged from a high of 86.18 to 73.65 at the low end. South Miami came in 29 out of the top 50 with a score of 80.9. Once again a bin has been set up behind the Sylva Martin building in the City Hall parking lot for residents to recycle discharged batteries.

South Miami Parks and Recreation will not be distributing free book bags and school supplies this year. They are in the planning stages of putting together eLearning and small face-to-face tutoring for South Miami students. I include more details when I get them.
SUPPLEMENTAL UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
The money that was authorized for FEMA to distribute to relieve some of the disaster caused by COVID-19 may be provided by States to add a $300 contribution to weekly amounts of unemployment benefits. This addition to the $100 that individuals are getting per week will be retroactive to August 1. Here is the formal announcement:
